Personality
She's quiet most of the time,
She can be very stubborn when she's convinced that she's right,
She's very persuasive in stating her case and will do her utmost to make you see her point. She's a very private person, and rarely talks about her roots, but she was born shipside, orbiting the mining colony on Titan, her parents are both Chief engineers, and she has an older brother, he's a composer, travelling from system to system on his ship, broadcasting his ethereal compositions to planets on the outer rim. Strolling around the room, my eyes come to rest on the sculpture, I watch the patterns form and coalesce, while I subvocal for local news and weather and notice the people in the room waiting with me, settling into a chair I watch the view for a while and listen to a track by ObsCura - a new band I recently discovered. Akiko shifts restlessly, subvocals the volume down and has a closer look at some of the people. The big man with the black eyes, doesn't like the decadent fountain, interesting.. looks like he's worried or tense about something, maybe he's got debts or expensive habits or maybe he just doesn't like being couped up here with us..he looks slightly familiar.. ..oh merciless gene, look at the strutter, wonder what he's gloating about, a razone merc too, by the looks of it. Nehiruun seems tough and assertive, quite different from Kuan's brash but honest approach. I hope we get along. I suspect this job is going to be demanding and there's going to be confrontations, just look at some of these guys, maxed-up and ready and experienced enough to take on a small army. "Hello everyone, I'm Akiko, engineering specialist, my software penetration skills will open many doors for us, ensuring electronic cloaking and a clear route to any M-frames we might have to access."
"a Pleasure to meet you and I hope we work well together." "... arrange for an accident that will destroy any trace of your presence.." Blow up the Orbital ?, that's very callous, a cleansing grenade should do the job with minimal damage to the Orbital, I can prevent any binary leakage of the event, I'll need the Orbital schematics. Akiko looks up when Edge walks past, noticing his rigid back and his irritation with the idea of having to work with unsavoury characters, then looking towards Kuan sees the dragging finger and almost does a double-take.. three hundred dancing demons, will you look at that.. Clearing her throat softly and looking towards Kuan, Akiko speaks up in a clear pleasant voice. "So Kuan, you agree then, that we do minimum damage to the Orbital, as I see you care about living creatures ? and this 'accident' can be avoided, if we plan this very well and execute it with maximum efficiency,.." Looking from Kuan to Nehiruun, Akiko continues talking: " ..and after securing the transport, we still have to reach the destination and deliver the cargo 'safely', and make sure we can deal with any tails, if something goes wrong." Akiko turns towards Edge nodding; "I'll recon the pipelines with you, see if there's any other tunnels we could use, and we should look for any access terminals to the Staatentek m-frame." "The other thing, about blowing the oxygen room, I suggest a more subtle approach; we open the intake valve and jam it, the control room alarms will sound off, as soon as point 8% oxygen leakage is detected, thereby creating a diversion to the Oxygen Control Room. I can't do this alone, I'll need help getting to the intake valve, it's located on the outside of the tank." "When we lock down/leak their oxygen supply, most of the staff will be stranded in safezones, making it easier for us to do our job covertly, most of us have armour or suits that accommodate this." "Blowing the tank should only be an option if I fail to rig the oxygen valve, which I won't, I happen to know the engineer who designed those modules." Arriving at the bar, Akiko orders a Lathebeer, gently shaking the beer from side to side until the foam forms a cone, licking the foamy cone, she joins Zan in the corner, by the window and lifting her free arm, whirrs one of the tiny tools on her arm at him in greeting and sits down next to him. "Heeya Zan, I'll just sit here with you and watch the door, I've got everything I need right here, (Akiko whirrs the tool again) and takes a deep drink from her beer. Akiko laughs at Kuan's excited outcry and motions for her to sit back down, "take it easy, let's first finish our drinks and besides, this is a good time to get know each other better." Sitting back in her chair, Akiko twirls the half full glass and shaking it, forces the foamy cone back up and taking another lick of the icy foam, she gestures towards Kuan, "I bet you've been to a lot of places, being a pilot, I remember a small cruiser, called The Frederick Pohl, crashlanded on that icy little moon in the Rythhaven system, wasn't it you that found them?, it was reported that some young hotshot pilot found them while doing a telemetry run near one of the zones and ..I've been wondering where I've seen you before, but that was more than 3 years ago, it was you right? .. well anyway at the time there was also rumours of strange events taking place, spatial displacement zones, that pilots were warned to avoid, and I heard that it was possibly the attempt by some unknown entities to try an establish a stable wormhole..since then I've heard nada, and was wondering if you ever flew by such a zone and can tell me anything about it ?" |
